Syria has begun to clean up the remains of the site the IAF bombed on September 6 to prevent it from becoming a focal point of international scrutiny, reports The Washington Post. The site in question is different from the abandoned military facility that Syria displayed to the world last week, when they were trying to claim that Israel had raided an empty building.

The prestigious German weekly Der Spiegel reports, in an incidental manner, that the two IDF soldiers who have been held captive by Hizbullah for 16 months are dead.

The latest in the string of foreign press reports regarding Israel’s September 6 strike in Syria claims Israel had a mole inside a Syrian nuclear facility. The IDF has released no information regarding the mission. ABC News reported Saturday that,

“Israeli officials believed that a target their forces bombed inside Syria last month was a nuclear facility, because they had detailed photographs taken by a possible spy inside the complex.”

The IDF killed two Islamic Jihad terrorists in Gaza Saturday October 20. The two were in a boat off the shore of Rafiach, when an air force helicopter fired missiles at them.

Fatah terrorists planned to assassinate Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on his way to Jericho for an August 6 meeting with PA Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen).

The Shabak (General Security Service) released the information Sunday. Israeli intelligence provided the PA with information on the planned assassination. The PA arrested the terrorists, members of Fatah. Some days later, however, the men were released - causing furor in government circles. However, a few weeks later, two of the five plotters were nabbed at an Israeli checkpoint, after they had been released from jail by Abbas.

Investigative journalist Yoav Yitzchak reports that the ongoing investigation against Prime Minister Olmert in the Bank Leumi Affair is yielding damning evidence of crimes punishable by active jail time. The report contradicts recent assertions by PM Olmert’s associates that he is unlikely to be charged with crimes.

Yitzchak, Israel’s most prominent investigative journalist, says police investigators have unearthed evidence implicating Olmert not only in fraud, as was originally publicized, but also “fraud in aggravated circumstances,” which carries an additional two year jail sentence.
