ABBAS SAYS TERRORIST PATH IS IMPRACTICAL-¡±NOW¡± by Hillel Fendel
Mahmoud Abbas - Israel¡¯s partner in peace talks and the head of Fatah and the Palestinian Authority - enjoys a reputation as a ¡°moderate,¡± largely in light of his juxtaposition with the arch-terrorists of his rivals/allies in Hamas. However, he now says that terrorism and violence against Israel are actually the preferred approach, and certainly need not be ruled out in the future. ¡°At present,¡± Abbas told the Jordanian newspaper A-Doustour, ¡°I am against an armed struggle against Israel because we can¡¯t do it, but in the coming stages, things may change¡±

HIGH TRAJECTORY WEAPONS AND GUERILLA WARFARE: ADJUSTING FUNDAMENTAL SECURITY CONCEPTS: - Gabriel Siboni
Countries such as Syria and organizations like Hizbullah in Lebanon and Palestinian organizations have built up high-trajectory fire capabilities as a key part of their operational capability. The Syrian military has built up powerful, well-stocked firing capabilities in a system built to operate on Israel¡¯s northern front as well as within Israel¡¯s strategic interior. At the same time, Hizbullah and other terror organizations have also built up high-trajectory systems, which present Israel with a significant challenge.

More than 180 missiles have been launched at Israel by Gaza terrorists - two rocket launches per hour — since Wednesday February 28. IDF soldiers bombed a truck in northern Gaza carrying 160 rockets ready for use against Israel. P.a. chief negotiator Ahmed Qureia suspended (peace?) talks with Israel Saturday over stepped-up IDF operations which killed some 60 terrorists.
