The news coming out of Gaza depicts the Arab populace living in darkness and cold and blaming Israel for closing down major crossings through which fuel arrives to Gaza’s power plants. Reporters even claim that the dead can no longer be buried properly because there are no shrouds, and that bodies are being wrapped in flags instead. PA officials in Ramallah have also blamed Hamas for the crisis in Gaza. PA Information Minister Riad al-Malki said the latest crisis was the result of Hamas’ “insistence on creating an Islamic republic in Gaza.” A top PA official in Ramallah accused Hamas of ordering bakery owners to keep their businesses closed for the second day running to create a humanitarian crisis. “Hamas is preventing people from buying bread,” he said. “They want to deepen the crisis so as to serve their own interests.” The official said that, contrary to Hamas’ claims, there is enough fuel and flour to keep the bakeries in Gaza operating for another two months. “Hamas members have stolen most of the fuel in Gaza to fill their vehicles,” he said. MISSLE TEST A MESSAGE TO OUR ENEMIES: - Alex Fishman
The missile that Israel tested Thursday January 17 demonstates that Israel can produce long-range ballistic missiles. Particularly, this capability enables Israel to produce missiles that can launch satellites into space, and also missiles aimed at thwarting incoming ballistic missiles fired at Israel from great distances at very high altitude. The “show” presented by Israel was an explicit signal: Those who are playing with their own missiles, such as the Shehab, or pursuing nuclear weapons, should know they are not alone in this game. Adventures come with a price. This is also known as “deterrence.” (Ynet News)

Under growing public pressure not to appear an Israeli lackey, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak affirmed on Wednesday that he had ordered his troops to allow Palestinians to cross into Egypt from Gaza because they were “starving.” The collapse of the border fence began when masked Palestinians detonated 17 explosions along the metal wall; later today a Caterpillar bulldozer arrived and leveled a section of low concrete wall topped with barbed wire, opening a gap for cars to cross the border. Hamas officials have admitted that the demolition of the Gaza-Egypt border was not related to the blockade placed by Israel, but that months of planning went into the demolition operation. ONE KILLED, MANY SAVED IN TERROR ATTACKS OUTSIDE JERUSALEM: Hillel Fendel and Ezra HaLevi
Arab terrorists opened fire on a vehicle near the northern entrance to the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat Thursday evening January 24, murdering one Jew and seriously wounding another. At the same time, an attack in Kfar Etzion, south of Jerusalem, ended in the death of two terrorists. Fatah’s Al-Aksa Brigades terrorist group announced that it was behind both attacks. Around the same time, Arab terrorists also infiltrated Kibbutz Kfar Etzion in Gush Etzion in an event that ended miraculously without major casualties. The two terrorists entered Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz’s Mekor Chaim yeshiva high school, entering a library room where seven of the boarding school’s counselors were having a meeting. The terrorists, armed with a knife and a gun - which later turned out to be a fake - were dressed in the uniforms of a security company, and ordered the seven to line up on one side of the room. A counselor realized they were terrorists, drew his personal firearm and opened fire. Another grabbed the fake gun from one of the terrorists, wrestled him to the floor, while the first counselor shot him dead. The terrorists managed to lightly stab two of the counselors before falling dead.
